Introduction

Welcome to Aharamai, an AI-powered food search and discovery platform. At Aharamai, your privacy is our priority. This Privacy Policy explains in clear terms how we collect, use, share, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile app and website.

Our goal is to give you control over your personal data while providing personalized, engaging, and trustworthy food discovery experiences. By using Aharamai, you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Personal Information

When you register with Aharamai or interact with our services, we may collect information such as your name, email address, phone number, and login details if you choose to sign up using Google, Apple, Facebook, or WiseIN ID.

We also collect information related to your activity on the platform, such as:

• Your location data (to display restaurants near you)

• Photos, videos, or text you upload in your reviews

• Chat messages you exchange with restaurants

If you choose to follow other users, food creators, or friends on Aharamai, your activity (such as reviews, likes, or saved dishes) may be visible to them depending on your privacy settings. You may adjust these settings to control what others can see.

This information helps us personalize your experience and allow you to interact effectively with restaurants and other users.

1.2 Non-Personal Information

In addition to personal data, we also collect certain technical and usage-related information automatically. This includes your device details (such as model, operating system, and browser type), IP address, app activity (pages viewed, time spent), and general trends of how you use Aharamai.

This information does not identify you directly but helps us improve the performance, reliability, and features of our app.

1.3 Data from Restaurants

Restaurants that create profiles on Aharamai share business-related information including their name, address, menu details, food images, and external delivery links (such as Swiggy or Zomato). Restaurants may also share certifications, awards, or promotional offers.

We also store chat and engagement history between restaurants and users to make communication seamless and transparent.

1.4 Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Like many apps and websites, we use cookies and similar technologies to remember user preferences, analyze activity, and improve performance. Cookies allow us to provide a smoother experience, such as remembering your search history and showing you relevant offers.

You can choose to manage or disable cookies in your browser or device settings, although some features of Aharamai may not function optimally without them.

1.5 Location Services

To help you discover nearby restaurants, Aharamai uses multiple location services:

• **Google Maps Geocoding API**: Converts addresses into precise GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude) so we can show you accurate restaurant locations and calculate distances.

• **IP Geolocation (ip-api.com)**: When you don't share your GPS location, we use your internet connection's IP address to estimate your approximate city/region location. This is a free service that helps provide location-based results without requiring device permissions.

• **Browser Geolocation**: With your permission, we can access your device's GPS to provide the most accurate nearby restaurant recommendations.

These services work together to ensure you always find restaurants near you, whether you're using GPS, Wi-Fi location, or just your general area. Your location data is used only for showing nearby restaurants and is never sold to third parties.

1.6 Push Notification Services

Aharamai uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) by Google to send you real-time notifications about:

• **Restaurant Offers**: Special deals and promotions from restaurants you follow or are nearby

• **Chat Messages**: Direct messages from restaurants responding to your inquiries

• **Review Responses**: When restaurants reply to your reviews

• **Important Updates**: Platform announcements or account-related information

**How It Works:**

When you allow notifications in your browser or app, Firebase creates a secure token (like a unique ID) for your device. This token is stored in our database and used to send you personalized notifications. You can disable notifications anytime through your device settings or app preferences.

**Why Firebase?**

Firebase is Google's trusted notification service used by millions of apps worldwide. It's reliable, secure, and ensures you receive timely updates without draining your battery. We chose Firebase because it works across all devices and browsers seamlessly.

Firebase processes notification delivery on our behalf but does not access your personal messages or data. Only the notification title, message, and basic routing information is shared with Firebase for delivery purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1 To Provide Core Services

The information we collect is primarily used to provide you with our core features:

• Searching for dishes, restaurants, or locations

• Displaying restaurant profiles with menus, photos, and user reviews

• Enabling you to upload your own reviews and interact with restaurants directly

Without collecting certain essential details (like your location or account details), we would not be able to deliver these services effectively.

2.2 Personalization & AI Recommendations

Aharamai uses AI to personalize your experience. Based on your cuisine preferences, past searches, and dining history, we suggest restaurants and dishes that may interest you. For example, if you frequently search for vegetarian dishes, our system will prioritize showing you vegetarian-friendly restaurants.

We also provide contextual recommendations, such as breakfast options in the morning, or trending dishes in your city. This ensures that your food discovery journey feels relevant and enjoyable.

We may also use anonymized data such as cuisine preferences, location trends, or saved restaurants to show you relevant promotions or offers from restaurants. We do not share personally identifiable information with advertisers or promotion partners.

2.3 Communication & Chat Features

When you use the chat feature, your messages are securely stored so you can continue conversations with restaurants. Notifications may also be sent to inform you of new messages, offers, or updates.

Restaurants may share promotions or Swiggy/Zomato links through chat. You always have control over whether to receive these notifications by adjusting your app settings.

2.4 Safety, Security & Compliance

We place a strong emphasis on trust. To maintain a safe community, we may use your information to:

• Verify the authenticity of reviews and restaurant profiles

• Detect and prevent fraud, spam, or abusive activity

• Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations

Our AI systems may flag suspicious activity, but human moderation is always part of the review process.

3. How We Share Information

3.1 With Restaurants & Partners

When you interact with a restaurant (such as leaving a review or starting a chat), certain information like your name, profile picture, and review details may be visible to them. Restaurants can also share their promotions and delivery links with you.

When you leave a review, restaurants may reply publicly. These replies will be visible to you and other users along with your original review. This ensures transparency and open feedback between users and restaurants.

3.2 Data Sharing with Restaurant Owners

Restaurant owners receive access to certain user data to enhance their service and understand customer preferences. The data shared includes:

• User profile information (name, profile picture, actual best accurate location)

• Reviews and ratings you have posted about their restaurant

• Your favorite dishes and saved items from their menu

• Engagement metrics (visits to their profile, menu views)

• Communication history through our chat feature

This data sharing helps restaurants:

• Provide personalized service and recommendations

• Understand customer preferences and popular dishes

• Respond appropriately to reviews and feedback

• Improve their offerings based on customer behavior.

3.3 With Service Providers

We rely on trusted third-party vendors for technical support, cloud hosting, analytics, and customer care. These providers only receive information necessary to perform their services and are bound by confidentiality obligations.

3.5 Business Transfers

If Aharamai undergoes a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of the business. In such cases, we will notify you before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a new privacy policy.

4. Your Rights & Choices

4.1 Access & Update

You can review, edit, or update your personal information through your account settings. Keeping your information accurate helps us serve you better.

4.2 Data Deletion

If you no longer wish to use Aharamai, you may request deletion of your account and associated data. Please note, however, that some information may be retained if required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., resolving disputes).

4.3 Opt-Out of Marketing

You may opt out of receiving promotional emails, SMS, or push notifications at any time by adjusting your settings or using the unsubscribe links in communications.

4.4 Cookies & Preferences

You are free to manage cookie preferences through your browser or device settings. This allows you to control how much tracking and personalization you want.

5. Data Security & Storage

5.1 Security Measures

We use industry-standard security technologies to protect your information, including encryption of sensitive data, secure data transmission, and strict access controls.

Although no system is completely secure, we take all reasonable steps to minimize risks and protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

5.2 Data Retention

We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide services, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Reviews or public content you submit may remain visible even if your account is deleted, unless you specifically request removal.

6. Children's Privacy

Aharamai is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child has provided data, we will take steps to delete it immediately.

7. International Data Transfers

Since Aharamai may operate across multiple regions, your information may be transferred and stored in data centers outside your country of residence. We ensure that such transfers comply with local and international data protection regulations (such as GDPR in Europe).

8. Updates to this Privacy Policy

We may revise this policy from time to time to reflect new features, technologies, or legal requirements. When significant changes are made, we will notify you via email or app notification.
